My name is Ryan Hanson. I'm currently a senior at Winnacunnet, and I've been selected to play in this year's CHaD East/West All-Star game. I will be playing on Team East, and this year's game will be played on June 30th at UNH's Wildcat Stadium. Although the focus is football, the purpose of this game is much greater. This event was organized to raise money and raise awareness for the great programs at the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth. As someone who volunteers with disabled children and special needs kids over the summer, I know some families who have been impacted greatly by the services at CHaD. After attending orientation, where players were able to spend time with the CHaD kids and learn their stories, I was able to understrand how the money we raise effects them. Because of this, I was inspired to do everything in my power to help the cause. The money raised through the CHaD All-Star game goes towards programs that are offered that are not covered by the budget. This includes things like toys and technology for kids to use while recovering from surgery, gas cards for struggling families that have to make long trips to the hospital multiple times per month, and financing play rooms and other projects that are making the Children's Hospital a better and more fun place.
I strongly urge you to consider donating. The money raised truly goes to the greatest cause. Any amount helps, and you could make a huge difference in the life of a child who goes through more than most of us could ever imagine.
Thank you, and I hope to see you at the CHaD East/West All-Star game on June 30th at UNH.
